As an international affairs expert, Dawit has occupied senior roles in telecom, oil and gas, power, and real estate organizations in the United States, Middle East and Africa. He is highly experienced in partnerships, acquisitions, growth strategy, economic policy, project management, and public/private partnerships. He has advised corporate entities and leaders worldwide. While resident in Washington, DC, from 1998-2013 he worked in the Africa Energy Division of the World Bank, this include leadership roles on the Vice President's Internal Audit Department. Dawit filled an executive role for Nightingale Fuel, leading international strategic initiatives exceeding $600 million USD in capital expenditures.

As an investor and charity founder, Dawit micro-financed and built 1,000 homes for in Sri Lanka for victims of the tsunami. Dawit served as an active investor and primary advisor to the Royal family of Qatar for $610M USD in mega-projects, with activities integral to the success of the delivery of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He has served on the board of directors of Daruna (Qatar), OVID Group (Ethiopia) and is presently a director at Frontier Alliance.
